I learned how to do this from reading a post by Ascorius on Total war.com so some credit must go to him. However no one has a stand-alone increased unit size mod that I like and that works with AUM and other mods.
I won’t take full credit for this mod as it has already been done a million times for other mods. If you follow these simple instructions you can have as many men in a unit as you want or that you’re computer can handle as increasing the amount of men on the better field affects performance a great deal.
Each of the twenty units has anywhere from forty to two hundred soldiers. The Original Empire Total War allows a maximum of twenty units per army to take place on the battlefield at one time. Also real generals of this time also controlled large amounts of trops. There will now be more action and battles will last longer. Directing battles will now be funner and require more strategy. By increasing the amount of men in a unit you are making the game more realistic, as actual Napoleonic battles consisted of anywhere from a few thousand men to hundreds of thousands. This same process also works for Napoleon Total War and Shogun Total War two. This document will instruct you on how to increase the number of men per unit in Empire Total War.
